Tunbridge Fair 2018
This is quite a ‘late’ blog post - about an event that happened few months ago - the popular Tunbridge Fair in Vermont.
We have no idea what this fair was about other than all the kids in school and in the gym were excited about it. It seems to be an annual event that the kids here LOVE to go to. So, last minute we decided to head over to the fair to check out the event. And, to be a ‘vermonter’ for once LOL
Tunbridge World Fair always runs 10 days after Labor Day and from what I know, this year they were running from Thursday to Sunday * amazed * This is definitely not the typical type of fair that we usually go to BUT since we are in Vermont now, I just thought that we should get used to the things going around us.
The place was packed with people. Tunbridge Fair had the students from Norwich University to assist and arrange in the parking spots and also the admission. I have to say that these ladies & gentlemen were very professional and respectful, I was pleasantly surprised. I guess the teaching and discipline that were taught to these young soldiers gave them a very good foundation.
Since it is more like an agriculture fair + fun fair, kids managed to take a stroll to look at the animals and crops etc before taking some of the rides offered there. It was interesting LOL I’m more of a city girl but my mom grew up in Cameron Highland with farms so I had the opportunity to actually be in both sides since young. However, my kids are not as lucky, TY was definitely uncomfortable being so close to cows, the smell, the dirt etc…I could see the face turning blue LOL… luckily we had our landloard’s daughter along and she was ‘braver’ so Ladybug was not as against it.
Honestly, I don’t think kids are specially excited about the animals LOL Even the largest pumpkin didnt quite amazed them
After all these looking around, we finally made it to the “fun'“ part - the rides.
We were hungry so we bought some food (pricey as usual) and then bought the tickets. I only spend $20 for the tickets because a very kind gentlemen decided to give me all his remaining tickets because they were leaving. I was just sitting waiting for my kids to finish their rides and they were begging for another round, I just mentioned that we only have few left so they should think wisely on which rides would they spend them on or which rides can they afford to take. Then this men came walking to me and offered the tickets in his hand, I thanked him and his family of course because this gesture means a lot to me.
I think overall it is a fun place to be. At least I enjoy spending time as a family and I love seeing my kids enjoying the rides etc.
I got a feeling that we will be going there again next year 😉
